The project I talk about today is part of a larger project. In this post, however, I want to start from the second bathroom in the bedroom, which will actually be hidden from sight. I mean that the same access door to the bathroom will be camouflaged, avoiding the possible anesthetic presence of a further door in the master bedroom.
The project
The complete design concerned the definition of spaces and the choice of furnishings and finishes of the entire apartment, located on the last floor of a few storey building in the historic center of Luino (a city on the Maggiore Lake, in the north of Italy).
The flat was really uninhabitable and uninhabitable, it was unthinkable to take photos durine the site survey! The owners wanted to renovate it to be able to move permanently and contacted me to fix everything (and there was a lot to do). But I will tell you abouyt the overturning of the living room, kitchen and first bathroom in another post.
I want to start from the area of the second bathroom in the bedroom, which of course was not really used as a bedroom with bath. I started to define the minimum space for the bedroom and the second bathroom, in order to optimize both rooms. In fact, I did not have a large size and every inch is precious.
How to use space
The sloping roof did not facilitate the insertion of standard container cabinets. I then opted for a tailor-made wardrobe that could take advantage of the tallest wall of the room and go over the bed following the roof’s slope. In the same wardrobe, the space for the headboard of the bed was obtained, very minimal and with the insert of a led strip. In the same wardrobe, two boxes per day are used as bedside tables.
The style is very simple and linear, with thin bows to open the wardrobe doors, which will be opaque lacquered.
The second hidden bathroom
Two cabinet doors lead to the bath that is fully camouflaged. Whoever enters the room will not know if there is another door that lead to another room (apart from the owners!). And the fact that they have a linear cabinet area creates harmony in the composition.
The bathroom has a large custom washbasin cabinet, with a long top running below the window. As finishes, hot and clear colors will be chosen to give brightness and amplitude. On the floor, both for the room and for the bathroom, we will have parquet and on the walls of the bathroom we will use the resin.
What do you think of this solution for the second bathroom in the room? I personally love to use wall wire doors or camouflaged door solutions that lead to hidden places!
