Ca’ Ventiquattro represents not only an event of the Fuorisalone 2019, which I had already marked on the agenda, but also a successful project that opens its doors during Milan Design Week.
This is why I wanted to go deeper, asking some questions to the architect who designed and followed the project.
What is Ca’ Ventiquattro
Ca’ Ventiquattro is an apartment of about 70 square meters, very close to Bosco Verticale. If you want to visit it, you can get off at the Gioia metro station, on the green line, and go to Via De Castillia, at number 24 of course.
The house has a central area dedicated to conviviality, two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Because I consider it a successful and innovative project
It is a project that sees as interlocutors:
- two clients who purchased the apartment for investment purposes
- Arch. Roberta Borrelli, owner of MAKEYOURHOME STUDIO
- partner companies that have contributed with their furniture
It’s a success because all these figures can get a positive publicity by opening the doors during the Fuorisalone of this apartment which will then be a real Boutique Hotel.
A Boutique Hotel for those design-loving tourists who want to relive a true 30s-style Milanese home, staying in the heart of the city.
“When I met the clients, they already had in mind to make a bnb. Then I worked out the project and turned it into something bigger and more interesting to present at Fuorisalone “, explains Roberta. “A win-win for everyone, even for companies that have decided to sponsor with their products”.
The idea is to combine the comfort of a home environment with the characteristics of a Boutique Hotel.
Concept and project timing
Customers wanted furniture that was inspired by the past, and Roberta found the choice that inspired her in the 30s.
“Customers wanted almost everything to be Made in Italy and in Brianza I found many companies that inspired me”.
Project times were fast: customers contacted Roberta in September.
“In December we closed the concept, the project and the budget,” adds Roberta.
And now, from April 8th, the doors of the apartment officially open for Milan Design Week!
