The idea of having a greenhouse in the garden, or on the terrace, is not common.
Not everyone knows the advantages that a greenhouse can give and not everyone imagines that there are solutions to live there too!
After you read this article I think you will want to deepen the “greenhouse issue”. And I speak of design greenhouses of course!
The plants are protected from the cold
Every winter we have the problem of where to shelter the plants.
The question “repairing plants from the cold” concerns me closely, since we now live in a house where we have several cactus, a lemon, a giant rosemary, a chinotto plant and a tangerine, a Ficus Benjamin bought at Ikea 5 years ago that now is growing visibly. In spring and summer they are outdoors, on the terrace.
The Ficus Benjamin and the cactus are promptly brought into the house while the other plants are covered. The situation is that we are submerged in plants (even if a little ‘green at home never hurts!)
A greenhouse, even small, would solve the situation and I found among the proposals of Unopiù, a well-known brand for its quality of outdoor furniture, the Floralia greenhouse suitable for both small spaces and larger spaces, being available in various sizes .
A reading angle can be created with a view
Even in winter the greenhouses maintain a pleasant temperature, especially if properly exposed to the sun.
It is therefore possible to place in the greenhouse, in addition to the plants, also a sofa, an armchair and small tables depending on the available space. We add a good book, a blanket and a herbal tea, and relaxation is assured.
In this case it would be lovely to be able to furnish the Orangerie greenhouse, another Unopiù proposal, much bigger than the previous one! Suitable for those with a large garden.
It’s a design solution … even inside the house
There is no shortage of the proposals of architects who use the greenhouses also in the interior spaces of the houses. These are usually large spaces, as in the recovery projects of former industrial warehouses.
This is the case of Gregoire de Lafforest who, in one of his projects, inserted the kitchen right in a greenhouse.
Or the greenhouses are many used for the creation of winter gardens or in the covering of passages between two separate parts of a house.
Captivating solutions that make me dream and that make me want a warm and welcoming corner, surrounded by greenery, even in winter!
