The idea of spending a night in the desert has always fascinated me.
When we chose to go to Dubai for our honeymoon, I did not think twice about spending one night at Bab Al Shams Resort & Spa! it’s really a fascinating experience to admire the sun on the sand dunes.
If you go to Dubai, you have to stay, even for just one night, in this luxurious resort and experience a magical Arab experience!
Useful info: this resort can be booked directly on booking, accessing the many offers up to 50%! The resort is not part of any specific hotel chain.
A night in the desert
After more than 40 minutes on a Jeep (which is used for Safari in the desert) and after driving miles along a straight road, we arrived at Bab Al Shams Resort & Spa.

Still on the jeep, we are welcomed to the right and to the left by soft and white dunes. Then you can start to see the structure of the beautiful oasis, with its extraordinary ocher-colored stone. It lends itself perfectly to the desert and the surrounding greenery, which is not lacking around the resort.
We can finally enter this stone citadel that I had dreamed so much! The pictures on the web were spectacular: I wanted to see and photograph everything live!

Our night in the desert awaited us.
The Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa is built in the style of a traditional Arabic stronghold. The courtyards with fountains, lush gardens and stone alleys lead to elegantly furnished rooms, designed in rustic Arabian style.
Here below, you can see picture of our room! It was fantastic, also the bathroom was superb!

Five stars Arabic experience
After a few minutes of arrival, the very high level of service is immediately clear. In Europe we are not accustomed to this kind of attention. Everyone was kind and caring with us from the beginning to the end of our stay.
The right adjective is: impeccable.
All interiors, both common and private, are decorated with an elegant Arabic style: bordeaux rugs, themed lamps and pillows.

A real map is provided at the reception in order to help you to understand how to move in the resort. Being very extensive, it is good to have an initial plan for orientation, but then everything is very handy.
The real protagonist and beauty of this place is water.
The blue water of the gorgeous fiery pool on the desert contrasts with the golden stone with which the whole citadel is built.

Around the pool, which is divided into zones with different heights, are provided comfortable beds.
But we could not stay out of the water for long! At the beginning of September there were 42 ° C perceptible and it was a pleasure to stay in the pool water. The inside temperature was perfect!

Even at food level, the Arab experience is complete. Bab Al Shams has 4 restaurants serving traditional and international cuisine. The famous Al Hadheerah Desert outdoor restaurant offers a unique Arab experience and we have been there!

We thought it was completely outdoors: instead only the buffet area is outdoor, created as if it were in an ancient Arabic market! Dinner is under a large tent, where you can watch various shows included in the price.
First advice: bring a sweater because the air conditioning inside the tent is devastating!
Second advice: ask the price first, it’s not cheap!
The sunset in the desert
Depending on the time, you can admire the sunset in the desert before or after dinner! I recommend getting to the Sarab Rooftop Lounge.
View of the desert and sand dunes, with nothing else: only the sun sets and floods dunes with orange.
